Tara-Lee Angell

Irish cellist Tara-Lee Angell and Jordanian/Palestinian pianist Tala Tutunji formed the Rhian Duo in 2008. Whilst classical music forms a large body of their repertoire, Tara-Lee and Tala are proud of their respective cultural heritage and background. Their distinctive musical identity has broken classical musical boundaries and introduced audiences to a unique blend of old and contemporary traditional Irish and Middle Eastern music creating a fusion of eastern and western elements.

They are strongly committed to the performance of works by living contemporary composers across the globe with various commissions written especially for them. Constantly evolving they are currently working on projects incorporating multimedia, dance and literature into the signature experience known as the Rhian Duo.
